PDA USER MANUAL

Purpose: To use a PDA (Personal Digital Assistant) to scan products and make inventories, sales, baskets from the items scanned with the PDA.

Here are the instructions for unpacking the HONEYWELL EDA 51 PDA and installing the battery.

When the PDA is turned on for the first time, you will be asked for the information needed to start up an Android device (like a telephone) 

1. Setup in Fastmag

A. Setting up the store

Sign management menu - Tools and settings - System settings - Stores - Store settings

Settings tab

Activate the use of a PDA and register for each store concerned.

Note: Using a PDA in Fastmag is possible in a browser and without using the Fastmag client.

B. Creation of the edi account

The creation of an edi account is necessary to connect to the Fastmag PDA application

Note: It is necessary to use our services to create an edi account

C. Creation of an article master record for the change of package

If you want to use the PDA to prepare your delivery notes by parcel, it is necessary to create an article card without stock management (Family beginning with a ~ Tilded) to automate the change of parcel when transferring baskets by parcel

Assign a gencod to the reference

Finally, set up the reference for the package change

D. Paramétrage du PDA

It is necessary to parameterize the reading of the 13th character of the gencod, for that, on the pda.

Go to the Parameter menu ==> Honeywell Setting ==> Scanning ==> internal scanner ==> Default profile ==> symbology setting ==> EAN-13 ==> check the "send check digit" box

2. Download the android application 

Fastmag allows the use of a PDA reader under android. So you need to start by downloading the application from Google Play

Search for Fastmag PDA and download and install the application on your PDA.

3. Launch of the Fastmag PDA application

Launch the Fastmag PDA application on your PDA

4. Using Fastmag PDA

The first time you launch the application, you have to fill in the following items:

Fastmag server: fill in the address of the Fastmag server that hosts you.

Example: opc30.fastmag.fr

Brand : Enter the name of your brand

Store : Indicate the store code on which you want to work.

Edi account : Enter the edi account linked to the store.

Password : Enter the password of the Edi account

Click on the OK button

At this moment, the application will automatically download all the active references with a gencod into the PDA

Choose the basket menu

The Product catalog information choice allows you to view the number of references, sizes, colors present in the PDA as well as the date of the last update. It is possible to update the product catalog again.

The collection menu allows you to create a basket

Click on more to add a cart

Enter the name of the basket and the type.

Enter the type of basket according to its destination:

• Sale for shipment in Fastmag sales screen
• Cart for shipment in Fastmag cart management screen
• Inventory for sending in Fastmag inventory screen
• Package for shipment in Fastmag's basket management screen by package (Quantities by items are not grouped by reference).

Entering the cart contents

Choose the Add product menu to scan the products

Scan the products in a row and click on finish to finish the entry.

Note: It is possible to scan a gencod, a supplier reference, a pid

Choose the menu Add product with quantity to allow you to enter a quantity after having scanned the gencod (or the supplier reference or the PID) or entered the reference, color, size separated by pipes

Example : BEN|MARRON|38

Scan the gencod, enter the quantity and click on add

Basket detail

The detail menu allows you to search for a product and eventually to modify the quantities of a product.

Enter the reference of the product you are looking for and click on the button enter the total quantity to modify the quantity.

Sending the cart in Fastmag

Go to the shopping cart menu and click on transfer

Then click on send on the basket concerned

Once the cart is transferred to Fastmag, it is possible to empty the cart in the pda by answering Yes to the question below.

We recommend that you keep the cart until you finish using it in Fastmag

5. Use of baskets generated by the Fastmag PDA application in Fastmag

A. Display of baskets on the sales screen

Click on the scanner button

The basket is created in a location with the same name as the basket

You can pass on the bins in the Fastmag sales screen by clearing them or not according to your choice in the actions menu on the right of the screen

The articles and quantities contained in the bins are found in the sales entry

B. Display of baskets on the inventory screen

Store Management Menu - Store Inventory

After transferring the inventory basket to Fastmag, you can modify the inventory information on the screen below.

Once you have made the changes, you need to transmit the data from the PDA to the actual inventory

Use the Transmit menu without clearing the bins.

C. Displaying baskets in the basket management screen

The basket recall screen is available throughout Fastmag software by clicking on the basket button

Choose to keep the cart if you want and then recall the cart

The references sizes colors as well as the quantities will be reminded in Fastmag.

D. Display of baskets by package in the basket management screen

The difference between normal baskets and parcel baskets is that for parcel baskets Fastmag PDA does not group the references color sizes.

This means that if you scan the same barcode several times, there will be no accumulation of quantities on the reference.

To change the package, simply scan the bar code of the item set up in the sign management menu - File settings - Trade tab

When recalling baskets by parcel, each time the item used to change the parcel is detected, Fastmag will change the parcel

To recall baskets by parcel, call the customer record and then go to the tab entry of the commercial part concerned

In the menu other action, choose recall a basket

Choose to keep the basket if you want and then recall the basket

When all the baskets are recalled, validate the commercial document.
